IMPACT was created as a specialized community investment vehicle to access capital from the insurance industry and to provide liquidity for originators of community development investments. IMPACT provides an infusion of capital to affordable housing and community economic development lenders by arranging for the purchase of community investments originated by other organizations. This serves as a catalyst for recycling capital back into lower income communities through IMPACT's secondary market purchases. Participating insurance companies now have an opportunity to invest in a wider variety of community activities while maintaining prudent investment standards.
