SMALL BUSINESS LENDING/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

In 1995, The Development Fund completed the creation of the California Economic Development Lending Initiative (CEDLI). CEDLI is a multibank, statewide community development corporation established to create jobs by providing loans to small businesses and other economic development and revitalization efforts. CEDLI's small business loan program provides financing to growing businesses in under-served, low income urban and rural areas and in a variety of industries that fall outside of conventional banking practices. CEDLI's shareholders include 45 financial institutions and four corporations and has leveraged or directly loaned over $70 million for its target markets.
